How it works

  1. Open Sites

Every site in your history, with its pages, visits and last visit. Sort by any column.

  2. Tick the sites

Click a checkbox, Shift-click to tick a range, or press ⌘A to tick them all.

  3. Delete and confirm

Delete asks once more before anything goes. Then every page from those sites is removed.

In detail

Every way to bulk delete history

Delete a whole site, a whole search or just the page you are on. Every path shows what will go before anything is deleted, and skips your protected sites.

Delete a site's history from any page

Right-click a page or a link on any website and open the History Monk menu. Choose Delete all history of this site, and History Monk opens on All time with that site already filtered and a delete panel at the top.

  • Delete all history of this page removes just that one address.
  • Search all history of this site opens History filtered to that site, without deleting anything.
  • Right-click a link to act on the site it points to, not the page you are on.

A confirm step you can trust

Nothing is deleted on the first click. You see which site is affected and exactly how many pages will go, then you confirm. The button says permanently, because the browser can’t put a deleted history entry back.

  • Bulk deletes in History and Sites ask the same way: Delete, then Confirm.
  • While it works, a count shows the progress, like Deleting 400 of 2,523.
  • Large deletes in History run in batches of 100 pages, and a short sound plays when they finish, unless Sound is off.

Protected sites can't be deleted

Add the sites you never want to lose, like your work documents or notes, to Protected sites in Settings. Write one domain per line, and its subdomains are covered too.

  • Their rows show a shield where the delete button would be.
  • They are skipped by every delete: a single row, a whole site, a Cleanup group or a filtered delete.
  • Want a site out of sight instead? Hidden sites keeps it out of search, Sites, Analytics and Cleanup without deleting anything.

What else it does

  • Delete search results in bulk

Search or filter in History, press ⌘A to select every result, then delete them all at once.

  • Right from the page you're on

Right-click any page or link and choose Delete all history of this site, or just this page.

  • Protected sites stay put

Add the sites you never want deleted in Settings. No delete in History Monk can touch them.

FAQ

Questions about bulk deleting history

How do I delete all history from one website?

Open Sites in History Monk, tick the site and press Delete, then confirm. Or right-click any page on that site and choose Delete all history of this site.

Can I undo a delete?

No. The browser can't put a deleted history entry back, which is why every bulk delete asks you to confirm first.

Are subdomains deleted too?

In Sites, each subdomain has its own row, so deleting google.com leaves mail.google.com alone. Delete all history of this site from the right-click menu includes subdomains.

The wise search once. History Monk remembers the rest.
