How it works

  1. Close a tab

By accident or on purpose. It goes straight to the top of Recently closed.

  2. Open Recently closed

It’s in the sidebar, under History. Type a word to filter the list by title or address.

  3. Click to reopen

The page opens again right away. No digging through the browser menu.

In detail

Recently closed, in detail

Your browser remembers the tabs you close on this device. History Monk puts that list next to your history, newest first, and makes it searchable.

Search your recently closed tabs

Type a word and the list keeps only the closed tabs whose title or address matches, with the match highlighted. The count above the list updates as you type.

  • Each row shows the title, the address and when you closed it: just now, 12m ago, 2h ago or a date.
  • Closed the same page twice? It is listed once, at the latest time.
  • Click a row and the page opens again in the same tab.

Reopen tabs from a closed window, one by one

Close a whole window and every tab in it lands in Recently closed as its own row. You can bring back just the one you need instead of the whole window.

  • The list holds the last 25 tabs and windows your browser remembers on this device.
  • The same list appears in Devices as This device · recently closed.
  • Older than that? Your full browsing history is one click away in the sidebar.

What else it does

  • Search closed tabs

Type a word and only the closed tabs that match stay in the list.

  • Closed a whole window?

Each tab from that window gets its own row, so you can pick the one you need.

  • Older than that?

Your full browsing history is one click away in the same sidebar, ready to search.
