Quick steps

Browse your sites in three steps

  1. Open Sites

Each website gets one row, most visited first.

  2. Sort or filter

Click a column to sort. Type to filter the list.

  3. Click a site

History opens with only that site’s pages.

Before you start: add History Monk from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons. The Chrome Web Store version also installs in Edge.

Step 1: Open Sites

Click Sites in the sidebar. Every website in your history gets one row:

  • Pages: how many different pages you opened on it
  • Visits: how many times you opened them in total
  • Last visit: when you were last there

The count above the list shows how many sites there are, like 19 sites. The list starts with the most visited site on top.

History Monk Sites view: google.com with 1,747 pages and 2,595 visits, github.com with 1,058 pages and 1,917 visits, then youtube.com, reddit.com and more
Sites, most visited first.

Step 2: Sort it or filter it

Click a column name to sort by it, like Pages. Click the same name again to reverse the order.

History Monk Sites view sorted by the Pages column, with google.com, github.com and en.wikipedia.org at the top
Sorted by Pages: en.wikipedia.org moves up to third.

To find one site, type part of its name in the box at the top, which reads Filter sites. wiki leaves the four Wikipedia sites.

History Monk Sites view filtered by wiki, showing en.wikipedia.org, de.wikipedia.org, ja.wikipedia.org and es.wikipedia.org
Each subdomain has its own row.

Step 3: Click a site to see its pages

Click a site’s row. History opens with only that site’s pages, and a chip with the site’s name appears under the search box. Type a word to search inside that site, or click the chip’s × to see everything again.

History Monk History view filtered to github.com with a github.com chip and 1,058 pages

Questions about the Sites list

How do I see all the websites I visited?

Open Sites in the History Monk sidebar. Each website in your history has one row with its page count, visit count and last visit.

Why are en.wikipedia.org and es.wikipedia.org separate?

Each subdomain has its own row in Sites. To search all of them together, type site:wikipedia.org in History, which includes subdomains.

Does the list follow the time range?

Yes. Sites counts only the pages in the range picked under Time in the sidebar, like Last 7 days or All time.

The wise search once. History Monk remembers the rest.
