Comparison
History Monk vs Chrome history. Every feature, side by side.
Chrome’s built-in history page lists your pages by day and lets you search and delete them. History Monk replaces that page with search that forgives typos, filters by site and date, deletes in bulk and cleans up the clutter. Here is exactly what each one does.

FAQ
Questions about History Monk and Chrome history
Is History Monk better than Chrome's history page?
For finding and cleaning up pages, yes. It adds typo-proof search, 11+ search operators, bulk delete by site, 24 cleanup groups, analytics and exports. Chrome's own page still wins at clearing cookies and cache, and at its opt-in AI search.
Does Chrome's history search fix typos?
No. In Chrome 154, searching your history for reatc shows No search results. History Monk finds react, using the words in your own history.
Can I search Chrome history by site or by date?
Not from Chrome's search box. Typing site:github.com finds nothing, and there is no date filter. You can use More from this site on a row. History Monk adds site:, after:, before:, a date range calendar and an hour filter.
Can I export my Chrome history?
Chrome's history page has no export button. With sync on, Google Takeout can download your synced history as a JSON file. History Monk exports any search to CSV, JSON or HTML, right from the page.
Do I lose Chrome's history page when I install History Monk?
In Chrome and Edge, History Monk takes over the History page, so Ctrl+H opens it. Delete browsing data is still in Chrome's settings, at Ctrl+Shift+Delete. Remove the extension and Chrome's own page comes back.
Does History Monk keep more history than Chrome?
No. It reads the history your browser already keeps, which is about 90 days in Chrome, and loads up to 100,000 of your most recent pages.
